T-minus 2 weeks till the Spring 2015 semester kicks off and I'm more excited than I've been in a while for my upcoming classes. Over the last 2 1/2 years I have been teaching Internet Marketing at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) pushing forward the knowledge of a structured digital eco-system. Each semester I make mental notes on how to improve the following semester. Tweaking, subtracting, and adding content to help enrich each class. I'm focused on staying relevant with the latest emerging media channels, best practices for SEO/SEM, and enhanced user experience on website structure to continue driving engagement conversion.
Starting January 26th, I will also be teaching Digital Marketing to MS majors in Integrated Marketing at NYU. I consider getting to this point in my career as an educator not just as a milestone, but also an incredible new challenge – one I honestly am uber stoked about. I'm really looking forward to having a more experienced and digitally-aware student body who are professionals in the field will definitely keep me on my toes.
I'm also curious to see how this impacts my job at Hook & Loop, my lectures at FIT, and my continued path in speaking engagements. I want to make a conscience effort to not only grow into a rocking professor, but to make sure that my teaching infuses energy into to my daily work activities. I'm looking forward to seeing how all these lines blur.
